Reuters correcting... slowly

Reporting on yet another Palestinian rocket attack from Gaza and Israeli military retaliation, Reuters correspondent Ori Lewis tries his hand at describing the situation on the ground since the end of the Gaza war in 2009.  Following the brazen lies penned by fellow correspondents Amir Cohen, Douglas Hamilton, and Nidal al-Mughrabi over the last two days, Lewis does a considerably better job conveying the facts:
The exchanges marked a raising of tensions between Israel and Gaza militants after a period of relative calm. The army said some 110 rockets and mortars have been fired at Israel since the start of 2010.
The term "relative" is of course relative (there were thousands of Palestinian rockets and mortars fired into Israel between 2008 and 2009), but at least Lewis made the effort to check with Israeli sources on the number of Palestinian attacks this year.
