Paradox and prevarication

Reuters can be so reflexively anti-Israel, the agency sometimes paints itself into a corner and is left looking utterly daft.  On the flotilla fiasco for example, Reuters asserts:
Israel has detained some 700 activists incommunicado, ensuring no contradiction of its version of events.
And then proceeds to publish statements from passengers contradicting Israel's version of events!

One of those statements comes from Aris Papadokostopoulos:
"We took part in the mission 'one ship for Gaza', carrying humanitarian aid ... wheel chairs, pharmaceutical supplies, building materials and nothing else".
Similarly, Mutlu Tiryaki comments:
"We told them we were unarmed. Our sole weapon was water."
Apparently, Aris and Mutlu didn't notice the other cargo:
